Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the WSL Customer Portal (the "Portal"), provided by Withnell Sensors Limited ("Withnell Sensors", "we", "us", or "our"). By signing in to or otherwise using the Portal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Portal.
1. About the Portal
The Portal is a customer service provided alongside our UKAS-accredited calibration and asset services. It allows authorised users at our customer companies to search for and download calibration certificates, service reports, and rental certificates, view asset and service-due information, request calibration quotes, and manage their own files.
2. Accounts and Access
- Access to the Portal is by invitation only. Accounts are created by your company administrator or by our staff, and are linked to a specific company and email address.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method (including any device used for magic links or multi-factor authentication) secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify us or your company administrator promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- We may suspend or terminate an account if we reasonably believe it is being used in breach of these Terms, poses a security risk, or if the underlying customer relationship ends.
3. Acceptable Use
When using the Portal, you agree not to:
- Access, or attempt to access, data belonging to a company you are not authorised to view.
- Share your sign-in credentials or access links with anyone else, or attempt to circumvent authentication or security controls.
- Use the Portal in any way that is unlawful, disrupts its operation, or could harm Withnell Sensors, other users, or third parties.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract data from the Portal other than through the download features we provide.
- Upload any content that is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or contains malicious code.
4. Certificates, Reports, and Asset Data
Calibration certificates and service reports made available through the Portal reflect the equipment and conditions assessed at the time our work was carried out. Depending on the scope of work requested, a certificate may be issued under our UKAS accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025) or as traceable to national measurement standards held by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) or another recognised national metrology institute; each certificate states which basis applies. Asset information such as service-due dates is provided for your convenience and does not replace your own equipment management or regulatory obligations. You remain responsible for deciding how to use certificates, reports, and asset information for your own compliance purposes.
5. Intellectual Property
The Portal, including its design, software, and branding, is owned by or licensed to Withnell Sensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Certificates, reports, and files made available to you remain the property of Withnell Sensors or your company, as applicable, and are provided for your company's own internal use. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Portal solely for that purpose.
6. Availability and Changes
We aim to keep the Portal available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may carry out maintenance, and may add, change, or remove features from time to time. We will try to give reasonable notice of any change that materially affects your use of the Portal.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Portal is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, as to the Portal's availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose, beyond what is expressly stated in these Terms or in the separate commercial agreement governing our calibration and service work with your company.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Withnell Sensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Portal. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Portal at any time, particularly if these Terms are breached, your account poses a security risk, or the commercial relationship between Withnell Sensors and your company ends. You may stop using the Portal at any time; please contact your company administrator to have your account removed.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Portal or to legal or regulatory requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and continued use of the Portal after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes arising from them or your use of the Portal will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
